On Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 6:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time), we will be honoring individuals who carry Ed Roberts's legacy in their work, activism, and contributions. The focus of this year's Ed Roberts Awards is the intersection of disability and parenting. We are looking forward to bringing everyone together virtually to cherish and celebrate Ed's memory and the work that continues to create a more inclusive, accessible, and just world.

Proceeds from this event will support our efforts to bridge the digital divide and provide our programs and services in a more safe, virtual manner until we can resume in-person activities again.

Ed Roberts was the so-called "father of the disability rights movement." He firmly believed in empowering others to be advocates and activists. In this spirit, TheCIL is pleased to recognize and honor those individuals who, like Ed, have made major contributions to the success of TheCIL and the independent living/disability rights movement in the US and internationally. Click below to read more about the former executive director of TheCIL.
